Bitcoin Rebounds Above $79K Amid Spot Demand, $78.3K Support in Focus
Bitcoin rebounded by more than $1,500 on Wednesday after falling to an intraday low of around $77,638. The price recovered above $79,000 during the Asian session, adding to a pattern developing around the upper-$77,000 area.
The rebound was driven by spot demand, rather than leveraged futures positions, which can unwind quickly when prices fall and liquidations begin. Bitfinex's trading desk noted that Bitcoin is in a 'market driven by spot buying', with roughly $77,100 identified as support.
Analysts are monitoring the price action around the $77,000-$78,000 region, with roughly $77,500 seen as an important support area and $79,500-$80,000 as the first zone bulls need to reclaim. However, a weekly close below $78,300 followed by a failed recovery could confirm another breakdown.
Rekt Capital warned that a retest of this level is crucial, while Bitfinex analysts noted that more than 71% of Bitcoin supply is now in profit, creating a deeper pool of holders able to sell when BTC approaches recent highs. This developing battle rather than a confirmed breakout.
