Bitcoin Rebounds Past $64,000 as Hype Lifts Altcoin Gains
Bitcoin rebounded above $64,000 on Monday, recovering from last week's slide despite a lackluster macroeconomic backdrop. The world's largest digital asset gained between 0.5% to 0.7% over the past 24 hours, but remained about 2.3% to 3% lower over the past seven days.
The rebound was led by Hyperliquid's HYPE token, which rose more than 3% on the day to around $59 and posted a weekly gain of nearly 9%. The token's market capitalization stood near $13.1 billion, making it the only large-cap asset with a meaningful weekly advance.
Nick Ruck, director of LVRG Research, noted that key catalysts this week include the release of FOMC minutes and any developments from the anticipated White House crypto meeting. The Federal Reserve is scheduled to publish minutes from its July 28-29 policy meeting on Wednesday at 2 p.m. ET.
