Bitcoin Reclaims $70k, But Bigger Breakout Still Needs Proof
The global market's precarious geopolitical landscape has influenced investor sentiment, making it highly sensitive to diplomatic developments. The recent US-Iran ceasefire agreement has led to a relief rally in broader equities, with the S&P 500 almost erasing its March losses.
This renewed risk appetite is spilling over into the digital asset space, with Bitcoin's technical analysis showing strong short-term recovery. The daily chart illustrates aggressive buying interest, with the price surging from the bottom discount zone to the top ceiling in just eight days.
Bitcoin's prediction score remains bullish at +4 on a -10 to +10 scale, indicating a moderately bullish outlook. However, there are two reasons that keep this from being a more confident assessment: open interest fell while price rallied, and the 4-hour chart cooled off after the breakout burst.
The weekly picture is improving, but still not cleanly bullish. The price is above the weekly Hull-Kahlman pair, which suggests easing downside pressure. However, BTC is still below the weekly EMA20 at $78,708 and the DC basis at $79,103, indicating that the longer-term structure has not flipped yet.
The key levels to watch are $71,250 to $71,750, which is the first area where BTC needs to show it can hold acceptance. If BTC can hold above $70,640 to $70,300 on pullbacks and re-accept above $73,080, the next upside magnet becomes $74,250.
