Bitcoin Recovery Faces Pressure from Record Long Exposure and Weaker Spot Demand
Bitcoin's recovery is being put to the test as it approaches $65,200. Short-term holder behavior has become crucial in this price range, and their recent actions are not entirely encouraging.
The 30-day Short-Term Holder (STH) SOPR had risen to 0.997, just below the neutral threshold of 1.0. This suggests that STHs are currently making a small loss on sales, which could deter them from selling at this price level.
However, if the price surpasses $65,200 and stays above it, short-term holders may reach their break-even point, leading to increased conviction in the market and stronger support for Bitcoin's recovery.
The real challenge lies in the derivatives market, where a record 361,000 BTC in long exposure has been recorded. This is accompanied by approximately $23.4 billion worth of net-long positions.
