A recent AI-assisted security campaign in the Bitcoin ecosystem, known as the Bitcoin Red Team, reported finding 6,700 issues across 425 projects in just 55 hours. The team used a combination of human expertise and artificial intelligence to scan for vulnerabilities.

The campaign, which was sparked by the discovery of a critical flaw in the Coldcard wallet, aimed to identify potential security risks in the Bitcoin ecosystem. According to Rob Hamilton, one of the organizers, the effort had spent over $10,000 scanning more than 100 repositories and had immediately disclosed critical findings when a proof of concept demonstrated exploitability.

The team used a range of AI tools, including OpenAI's Cyber Harness, to assist with the review process. However, experts have noted that the campaign's findings are not yet actionable, as many require further validation and triage before they can be addressed.
