Bitcoin Red Team Finds Thousands of Security Issues After $100M Hack
A team of 16 volunteers called Bitcoin Red Team conducted an audit of 390 Bitcoin-related projects using AI and human review. The audit, which lasted under 30 hours, uncovered 4,962 potential security issues.
Among these issues, 720 were rated as high or critical severity, highlighting significant risks in the Bitcoin ecosystem.
The team's findings follow a recent Coldcard hardware wallet hack that resulted in over $100 million stolen. This incident raised concerns about Bitcoin security and prompted the Bitcoin Red Team to conduct their audit.
