Bitcoin Red Team Unveils AI-Powered Vulnerability Scanner
A Bitcoin Red Team initiative has used AI to scan over 150 repositories and found more than a dozen critical vulnerabilities across various projects. The team, which includes AnchorWatch CEO Rob Hamilton and pseudonymous developer Calle, has developed an open-source AI platform for auditing Bitcoin software.
According to Hamilton, the group spent around $20,000 on AI services and uses models such as Kimi K3, OpenAI's GPT Sol, Anthropic's Claude Fable, and Opus to identify vulnerabilities. Calle stated that they are averaging one critical exploit per hour per person.
The team has reported several critical vulnerabilities to various projects in the last 12 hours, but did not disclose which specific projects were affected or provide details of the vulnerabilities. This initiative is part of a growing trend where AI is being used to find security flaws across the crypto industry.
