Bitcoin Resists Tech Stock Pullback as Crypto Market Shows Unexpected Strength
The cryptocurrency market has shown resilience in the face of declining tech stocks, particularly those related to artificial intelligence. While Nvidia shares fell 4.8% and pulled down other AI sector favorites, Bitcoin's price remained firm around $65,000, even increasing by 4% compared to the previous Friday.
This stability was accompanied by a strong performance from Ether, with its ETH/BTC ratio reaching a three-month high. According to Tom Lee, chairman of Bitmine and co-founder of Fundstrat, this is an underlying bullish signal for the entire crypto sector.
However, Nansen's senior research analyst Nicolai Sondergaard cautions that the recent price rise lacks buying conviction. He notes that open interest on Bitcoin futures fell as prices climbed, indicating that traders are reducing risky exposures rather than placing new buying bets.
