Bitcoin Rides Strong Macro Sentiment as Ethereum Open Interest Surges
Bitcoin continues to outperform Ethereum in terms of price action, despite rising open interest in Ethereum derivatives markets. At press time, Bitcoin's price hovered around $65,000, while Ethereum remained slightly above $1,950.
The comparison made by TradingView showed that Bitcoin depreciated by approximately 29.77% over the period under consideration, whereas Ethereum's decline stood at about 41.96%. This divergence in performance indicates that Bitcoin attracted more investor demand and preserved its value better than Ethereum during this time.
CoinGlass data indicated that Bitcoin's open interest has remained relatively constant, fluctuating between $45 billion and $49 billion over the last month. In contrast, Ethereum's open interest rose from $22 billion at the beginning of July to nearly $28 billion by the end of the month, showcasing faster growth in Ethereum open interest.
The overall market sentiment remains positive, bolstered by recent updates showing Bitcoin above $65,000 and Ethereum above $1,950. Lower oil prices also contribute to these favorable conditions, which can spill over into digital assets and support both Bitcoin and Ethereum.
