Bitcoin RSI Surges to 86 as Prices Approach $80K
Bitcoin's relative strength index (RSI) has surged to approximately 86, marking the cryptocurrency's strongest overbought condition in nearly two years.
The move comes after BTC broke decisively above its long-held trading range of $62,000 to $71,000, rallying as much as 12% in a single day and briefly approaching the $80,000 price level.
Historically, such elevated readings have sometimes preceded short-term pullbacks, but they can also persist for extended periods during strong uptrends.
Analysts point out that it's difficult to interpret the RSI as an immediate signal of a price drop in a strong upward trend. The $77,000 support level is currently being watched, and if BTC holds above this price, it suggests the rally may continue; if it breaks below, it could indicate a cooling off or correction phase.
