Bitcoin Sees $1 Million Target Amid US Debt Crisis
A recent report from Bernstein analyst Gautam Chhugani suggests buying Bitcoin as a way to hedge against U.S. currency debasement. With U.S. debt topping $40 trillion and soaring long-term bond yields, Chhugani believes the government may resort to running the economy hot to try to grow its way out of debt.
This would naturally lead to a weaker dollar and greater concern about currency debasement, making Bitcoin an attractive option as a scarce asset that cannot be easily created or diluted. According to Chhugani's accelerated bull case scenario, Bitcoin could peak at $500,000 by 2029, then reach $1 million by 2033.
Despite the current bear market and recent price drop, many investors remain hopeful about a looming vote on the Clarity Act, which would establish a regulatory framework for the industry. Additionally, a huge Bitcoin short squeeze has been reported, pushing the digital gold theory back into the spotlight.
