Bitcoin Sees Historic Gains Amidst Halving Cycle, Targets $186K and $1M
Bitcoin's recent surge past $100,000 has left investors and analysts wondering if the cryptocurrency will replicate its 2017 bull run. The halving program, which periodically reduces supply, is a key factor in Bitcoin's four-year cycle. Historically, significant price increases have followed this event.
Between 2015 and 2018, Bitcoin demonstrated similar recovery patterns. Analyzing Glassnode data reveals that today's progress is comparable to past cycles. The 2018 to 2022 cycle saw even larger gains, with a 1,300% appreciation in value during a similar timeframe.
Analysts suggest that if current trends persist and mirror the 2015 to 2018 cycle, Bitcoin could achieve an 1100% gain by the first quarter of 2025. This would push its value to about $186,000. However, another perspective suggests comparing Bitcoin's trajectory with U.S. presidential terms.
Notably, Bitcoin's value increased 20-fold during Trump's initial presidency. A conservative forecast of a 10-fold increase from current levels could see Bitcoin reaching approximately $1 million by the end of this year or early next year according to some analysts.
