Bitcoin Sell-Side Risk Hits Rare Lows Amid Eased Selling Pressure
The sell-side risk for Bitcoin has returned to rare lows, according to new data from Glassnode. The metric, known as the sell-side risk ratio (SSRR), fell to seven from a high of 16 in September, placing it among its lowest-ever readings.
This indicates that selling pressure on Bitcoin has eased, and investors are less likely to panic sell even if the price corrects further. In August, Bitcoin's price rebounded to multimonth highs above $80,000, but this time around, the metric shows that little supply was drawn in.
Glassnode also noted that long-term holders of Bitcoin are realizing profits onchain at a lower rate than usual, with their share of realized profit falling to 47% from 88% at the August peak. This suggests that sellers this month are recent buyers who are selling less.
