Bitcoin Setup Suggests Sharp Move Imminent Amid Growing Profitability
The on-chain data suggests that Bitcoin (BTC) is sitting on a volatile setup despite trading sideways. Glassnode's weekly pulse indicates that leverage, institutional inflows, and profit-taking are all building underneath the surface.
The majority of circulating Bitcoin supply, 69.3%, is now in profit, exceeding its statistical high band. This growing profitability gives holders an incentive to sell. The Net Unrealized Profit and Loss reading has climbed to 10.1%, and the Realized Profit and Loss ratio jumped 39% to 1.0, indicating more participants are locking in gains rather than holding through flat price action.
The Hot Capital Share figure, which measures short-term capital active in the network, has increased from 27.5% to 30.1%, well above its upper band of 22.8%. This setup historically raises the risk of a sharp move in either direction once a catalyst arrives.
