Bitcoin Short Squeeze Fuels Price Surge Above $69,500
A massive short position liquidation in Bitcoin has propelled the price above $69,500. An 1800 BTC short position worth $125 million was opened at $63,991 and fully liquidated in two sessions, wiping out the trader's entire $2.92 million margin.
The sudden loss of this large short position cleared the path for a higher price movement, with Bitcoin currently testing its upper Bollinger resistance at $67,518.25.
However, with the Relative Strength Index (RSI) flashing overbought at 85.33, a healthy retracement to the 50-EMA support at $64,251.16 seems probable before further continuation.
