Bitcoin Short-Term Demand Surges Near $80K, Fueled by Market Confidence
Bitcoin's price momentum is building near the $80,000 mark as short-term demand surges, according to on-chain data from Glassnode. The cryptocurrency has been consolidating in a high-demand zone, with market indicators pointing to sustained buying pressure from short-term holders.
Glassnode's metrics show that short-term holders (STH) are accumulating Bitcoin at an increasing rate. The Spent Output Profit Ratio (SOPR) for STHs remains above 1, indicating that recent buyers are selling at a profit, which is a sign of market confidence.
The Exchange Flow Balance shows more Bitcoin being withdrawn from exchanges than deposited, a classic bullish signal suggesting reduced selling pressure. The short-term holder cost basis, or the average price at which these investors acquired their coins, is also trending upward, reinforcing the demand narrative.
Market analysts note that the current momentum comes amid a broader recovery in the cryptocurrency market, influenced by macroeconomic factors such as inflation expectations and institutional adoption. Bitcoin's resilience near $80K is notable, as it has historically faced significant resistance at round-number levels.
