Bitcoin Short-Term Holders Sustain 6% Losses Amid Cautious Holding
Bitcoin's short-term holders are experiencing significant losses, but analysts say there's no clear sign of capitulation. According to CryptoQuant data, these investors have an average unrealized loss of around 6%. This is evident from the Short-Term Holder Market Value to Realized Value (STH MVRV) ratio, which has remained below 1 for 98 consecutive days.
With short-term holders' cost basis at approximately $67,300 and Bitcoin's current price hovering around $63,200, there's persistent pressure on the market. Analyst Axel Adler Jr. notes that the Short-Term Holder Spent Output Profit Ratio (STH SOPR) is currently around 0.996, indicating slight losses among sellers.
The absence of capitulation signals could be interpreted in two ways: either short-term holders are resilient and unwilling to sell at a loss, or prolonged losses may eventually lead to increased selling pressure if prices continue to decline.
