Bitcoin Slips Below $65k Amid U.S. Inflation and Iran Tensions
Bitcoin slipped below $65,000 on Monday after giving back some of its gains from last week's surprisingly weak U.S. jobs report.
The data showed that U.S. employers unexpectedly cut 23,000 jobs in July, compared with expectations for an increase of about 80,000.
Despite the bearish jobs numbers, investors were cautious ahead of Wednesday's U.S. consumer price report, which could provide fresh clues on the Federal Reserve's policy path.
The inflation data have taken on added importance due to geopolitical tensions in the Middle East, with energy prices remaining sensitive to developments in the region.
