Bitcoin's recent surge has come to an end as the cryptocurrency slipped below $79,000 after a 23% weekly gain. According to CoinDesk, Bitcoin was trading at around $79,000 during Asian morning hours on August 26, down about 1% from a day earlier.

The decline follows a significant rally in the past week, with major altcoins also experiencing losses. XRP fell more than 4% from a day earlier to about $1.44, while Solana and Ether dropped by over 3% and 1%, respectively. Dogecoin and BNB were down by around 5% and 2%, respectively.

However, longer-term market indicators are showing improvement, with CryptoQuant's Bull Score surging to 80 from 30 in just a week. This marks the highest reading since October 6, 2025, when Bitcoin was trading at about $124,000.
