Bitcoin Slump Triggers $8.3B Loss for Strategy Amid Record Quarterly Holdings
Strategy, a company chaired by Michael Saylor, reported an $8.33 billion operating loss for Q2 2026 due to a decline in Bitcoin's fair value.
The company, which holds the largest corporate Bitcoin holdings, saw its BTC price drop below $64K as investors digested its quarterly results.
Strategy continued to expand its Bitcoin treasury during the quarter, increasing its holdings by 11% despite the large accounting loss.
The company also reported a net loss of $8.22 billion for Q2 2026, largely driven by an $8.32 billion unrealized markdown on its BTC holdings.
