Binance Research has released its Half-Year 2026 report, highlighting Bitcoin's lackluster performance in the first six months of the year. Since January, the price of BTC has fallen by approximately 32%, landing at around $60,000 at the end of June.

This decline marks a third consecutive quarterly loss across broader financial markets worldwide. The researchers also noted that Bitcoin's longer-term drawdown has extended, with the asset having dropped more than 50% from its record high near $126,000 in October 2025. Notably, this peak was breached for over 275 days.

The report attributes Bitcoin's weak performance to broader macroeconomic conditions rather than specific crypto-related events. On-chain data indicates that 10.83 million BTC ended the period in unrealized loss, while 9.22 million units remained profitable. This crossover of losses and profits has historically appeared near major market bottoms before stronger recoveries.
