Bitcoin Smashes Record with 23.58% Weekly Surge
Bitcoin's price surged last week by 23.58%, its best performance since 2023, according to recent data. This gain brought in $14,833, a record-breaking dollar amount for any single week in Bitcoin's history.
The weekly candle broke through a descending trendline that had been in place since the October 2025 record high. BTC currently trades near $79,000, up 1.8% over the past 24 hours.
Bitcoin's price bounced from the $63,000 to $66,000 support zone and cleared the descending resistance line drawn from its record high of $126,195. The price also pushed through the $74,000-$76,000 band, which should now serve as support.
The BBWP indicator expanded from an extreme low to near-maximum volatility, signaling a large move without indicating direction. Historically, such squeezes have preceded significant price movements in BTC.
