Bitcoin Smashes Through $75,000, Triggering Massive Liquidations
Bitcoin's price surged to a multi-month high of $75,120 on August 21 after breaking through the $75,000 level. This represents an intraday gain of over 7.7% or $5,300 for BTC.
The rally was reflected in derivatives market liquidation data, with over 130,000 traders forcibly liquidated across global cryptocurrency markets. The total liquidation value reached a staggering $1.23 billion, with short-position liquidations dominating at $1.05 billion.
According to Sinohope Research, the rebound was driven by a convergence of multiple factors, including regulatory tailwinds, falling long-end yields, and cross-sector capital rotation back into crypto.
