Bitcoin Soars 20% This Week on US Crypto Push
Bitcoin surged on Thursday, reaching as high as $75,740 before easing to $74,806.41 at 8:28am UAE time.
The digital asset advanced more than 4 percent during early Asian hours, extending a surge that started on Wednesday when the US Treasury announced measures to curb long-term bond yields and President Donald Trump pushed for crypto-related legislation.
The week's gains were fueled by investor enthusiasm following Treasury Secretary Scott Bessent's statement on doubling the department's bond buyback program.
President Trump met with industry figures, including executives from Coinbase Global and Payward, and urged the Senate to advance the Clarity Act, a crypto market structure bill that has been held up by disagreements over ethics rules.
