Bitcoin Soars 24% in August, CryptoSlate Model Sees Volatile September Ahead
Bitcoin's price has surged by 24% over the past month, reaching $77,700 on August 31. This significant gain is reflected in CryptoSlate's market signal, which registered a bullish 68 out of 100 after a late-week pullback.
The model used by CryptoSlate to predict Bitcoin's price for September forecasts a median value of $81,319 by September 29, representing a 4.7% gain from the current price. However, this is significantly lower than the 23.5% advance seen in August.
CryptoSlate's analysis suggests that the recent rally was driven by spot demand and cash buying, with evidence of $2.23 billion of spot Bitcoin ETF demand and a decline in futures open positions measured in Bitcoin. However, the model also maps a broad distribution of possible September prices, with the 80th-percentile point (P80) estimate at $91,049 and the 20th-percentile point (P20) estimate at $72,502.
The distance between these estimates matters after such a fast rally, and the wide span preserves substantial volatility around the predicted path. The immediate test for Bitcoin's price will come from its current structure, with support around $77,000 and resistance above $80,000.
