Bitcoin Soars 25% Amid New US Crypto Rules
Bitcoin's price has surged by 25 percent in recent days, marking a significant gain for the leading cryptocurrency. According to Henri Arslanian, former PwC crypto leader and co-founder & managing partner at Nine Blocks Capital, this jump is likely linked to new developments in the US regulatory environment.
The US Securities and Exchange Commission has introduced new rules governing cryptocurrencies, which may have contributed to Bitcoin's price increase. The Commodity Futures Trading Commission also indicated that it will issue its own rules if the Clarity Act does not succeed. Additionally, the Financial Accounting Standards Board (FASB) issued accounting guidance treating stablecoins as cash equivalents.
Tether, a popular stablecoin, reported its first financial milestone in this new regulatory landscape. Arslanian notes that these developments highlight ongoing shifts in crypto infrastructure and regulation.
