Bitcoin Soars Above $80,000 as Onchain Liquidity Rebounds
Bitcoin's price has surged to above $80,000 after a strong week of growth, driven by increased onchain liquidity. According to CryptoQuant contributor Darkfost, Bitcoin's realized capitalization increased by more than $4.6 billion during the week ending Aug. 30.
The increase in realized capitalization is significant, as it indicates that capital has entered the market and is supporting the price advance. However, Darkfost cautioned that the 30-day average growth rate remained only 0.4%, meaning the data does not yet confirm a sustained liquidity expansion.
Realized capitalization values each Bitcoin at the price recorded when it last moved onchain, which differs from standard market capitalization. When older coins move at higher prices, realized cap generally increases, and analysts often interpret this change as capital entering the market.
