Bitcoin Soars Above $82,000 as Analysts Weigh End of Bear Market
Bitcoin's recent price surge has caught attention from analysts and investors alike. The cryptocurrency broke above $82,000 for the first time since May 11, with a $510 million short squeeze reported by Bull Theory.
This move coincided with spot Bitcoin ETFs pulling in $730.87 million on September 3, led by BlackRock's IBIT at $453.96 million, according to SoSoValue. This marks the largest single-day inflow since January 14.
Erik Crown, a Cointelegraph analyst, believes that a weekly close above $82,800 would mark Bitcoin's first higher weekly high since the downtrend began, signaling an end to bear-market talk. However, Crown also notes that losing this level and falling below $57,750 would prove his own model wrong.
Fidelity Digital Assets' Chris Kuiper agrees with Crown's assessment of Bitcoin's resilience during past bear markets, pointing out that a hardware wallet security scare and the CLARITY Act stalling in the Senate did not push prices lower. Instead, the market demonstrated 'bear-market-resilience,' as Kuiper calls it.
