Bitcoin surged past $72,000 on Thursday after reports emerged that ceasefire talks were moving forward in ongoing geopolitical tensions. The news sparked a 3% rise in Bitcoin within minutes and propelled it to a 2% gain over the prior 24 hours.

The Nasdaq also recovered from early losses, rising 0.65%, while WTI crude oil pulled back to $98.60 per barrel after hitting nearly $103 earlier in the session.

Other major digital assets, however, did not see the same level of growth as Bitcoin, with Ethereum (ETH), Solana, and XRP each gaining less than 1% over the same period.

Bitcoin's performance has been distinct from software stocks in recent weeks. The iShares Expanded Tech-Software ETF fell 4% on Thursday and is approaching a support level near $76 that it has tested and held several times before. Over the past month, Bitcoin has gained 9%, while the same ETF has dropped 12%.
