Bitcoin Soars Past $80,000 on Weaker Dollar and Treasury Measures

Bitcoin surged past $80,000 on Tuesday to reach its highest level in over three months. This milestone was largely driven by a weaker US dollar and renewed interest in cryptocurrencies following recent measures from the US Treasury aimed at calming the bond market.

The US Treasury Department announced last week that it planned to repurchase more long-term bonds, a move designed to limit increases in long-term yields. However, this announcement weighed on the value of the dollar as investors grew concerned about its depreciation.

Tony Sycamore, an analyst at IG, attributed the surge in demand for both physical and digital assets to renewed concerns over currency depreciation. He noted that a sustained move above the current level could potentially pave the way for Bitcoin to advance towards $95,000 or even $100,000.
