Bitcoin spot ETFs have seen a significant surge in inflows, attracting $1.92 billion over four trading days from August 17 to August 21. This marks their strongest weekly inflow of 2026.

The funds' net inflows totaled $307.46 million on August 21 alone, with BlackRock's iShares Bitcoin Trust leading the charge with $239.28 million in flows. Fidelity's FBTC and Bitwise's BITB also saw significant inflows, totaling $30.19 million and $9.21 million respectively.

Despite a potential near-term pullback, institutional demand for BTC remains strong, driven by strategic allocations rather than CME basis trades. BlackRock's IBIT has seen its institutional ownership rise to 25.1% in Q2 2026, up 6% quarter-over-quarter.
