Bitcoin Spot ETFs Surge Toward $1 Billion Inflows Threshold
Bitcoin's spot exchange-traded funds (ETFs) have seen significant inflows in August, pushing the cumulative total towards $1 billion. According to recent data, these ETFs pulled in $189 million in net inflows on the latest trading day alone.
The majority of this influx went into larger funds, with BlackRock's IBIT fund recording the largest single-day inflow at $142.10 million, followed by Fidelity's FBTC at $41.60 million. By contrast, Grayscale's GBTC and the Bitcoin Mini Trust both closed the day with zero net flows.
Bitwise emerged as a standout performer, attracting $16.15 million in fresh capital during the session. This influx allowed the asset manager to acquire 250 BTC from the spot market, increasing its total holdings to 36,868 BTC and its net asset value to $2.38 billion.
The inflows arrive alongside news that Hashdex has moved to liquidate one of its funds. While fund liquidations are not uncommon in a maturing ETF market, this development highlights an uneven demand landscape where larger issuers are consolidating market share while smaller products are being wound down.
