Bitcoin Stabilization Phase: Long-Term Holders Continue Accumulating
Long-term Bitcoin holders have continued to accumulate even as the cryptocurrency's price fell from $82,000 to under $58,000. According to a recent analysis from Bitfinex, these investors maintained their accumulation strategy despite the significant price drop.
The scale of accumulation slowed from approximately 40,000 BTC per month in late May to around 14,000 BTC per month by late July. This reduction in buying activity coincided with a parallel slowdown in selling activity, suggesting that both sides of the market are becoming less aggressive.
Bitfinex interprets this as a market that is stabilizing, not necessarily one that is poised for an immediate rebound. The behavior of long-term holders is closely watched by analysts because it often provides a reliable signal of market sentiment.
