Bitcoin Stagnates at $65,000 Amid Low Volatility
Bitcoin's price stagnated in the week from July 31 to August 7, 2026, as it hovered around $65,000. The cryptocurrency with the highest market capitalization rose only 2.35% during this period, and its volatility remained low at a maximum daily price movement of 1.18%. According to US unemployment benefit statistics, policymakers were less inclined to lower key interest rates due to the resilience in the labor market, which is negative for Bitcoin.
The spot Bitcoin ETFs recorded a weekly inflow of $7.5469 billion, with investors contributing the largest amount, $6.0693 billion, to BlackRock's iShares Bitcoin Trust (IBIT). However, this news was potentially offset by the Brazilian crypto asset management company Hashdex's decision to liquidate its spot ETF (DEFI) due to low asset volume relative to costs.
Cardano, on the other hand, reached a record decentralization level of 16 according to data from Chainspect. This achievement, combined with increased activity from large holders and growth in the Cardano derivatives market, contributed to ADA becoming one of the week's top performers, rising nearly 19%.
