Bitcoin Stalls Below $65K as ETF Inflows Continue Amid Regulatory Uncertainty
Bitcoin's price has stalled below $65,000 despite continued inflows into US spot Bitcoin ETFs. The asset traded between $64,114 and $64,916 on August 7, with a daily loss of 0.5% and a weekly decline of 0.6%. This comes as four consecutive sessions of ETF inflows have supported demand, with the latest session seeing $137.6 million in net inflows.
The Senate's delay of the CLARITY Act vote until September has removed an expected August regulatory catalyst for Bitcoin. The bill would establish a federal digital asset market structure and clarify responsibilities between the SEC and CFTC, but its impact on Bitcoin remains uncertain.
While ETF demand remains positive and leverage is rebuilding from lower levels, Bitcoin's price still needs to break through resistance above $66,000 to confirm a stronger recovery. The next catalyst for markets will be July employment data, which arrives on August 7, followed by inflation data on August 12.
