Bitcoin Starts September on Strong Note but Historical Trends Suggest Caution
Bitcoin's price surged in August, ending the month with nearly a 25% return, its strongest performance since November 2024. The cryptocurrency is trading above $78,900 on Tuesday after staging a mild rebound the previous day.
The strong start to September has some analysts cautioning that historical trends point to a cautious outlook for the month. In August, Bitcoin delivered two consecutive months of positive returns, but data shows average losses of -2.86% in September.
US-listed spot Bitcoin ETFs recorded $216.70 million in net inflows on Monday, while Strategy, a major corporate participant, added 4,603 BTC to its holdings. This signals continued institutional demand for the cryptocurrency.
