Bitcoin Steadies Below $80k as Warsh Speech Looms
Bitcoin stabilized around $79,259 on Friday, holding steady despite caution ahead of a highly anticipated speech by Federal Reserve Chair Kevin Warsh.
The world's largest cryptocurrency slipped 0.4% in early trading but remained within reach of its three-month high of over $81,000 set earlier in the week.
The crypto has been on a tear, rebounding sharply over the past week due to optimism over regulatory progress and U.S. Treasury intervention in the bond market.
However, lingering concerns about rising interest rates and ongoing uncertainty over the US-Iran conflict have kept risk appetite in check.
Warsh's speech at the Jackson Hole Economic Symposium will be closely watched for cues on interest rates, particularly after this week's PCE price index data showed prices above 2% in July.
