Bitcoin Suisse is cutting up to 60 jobs in Switzerland as part of an international overhaul, affecting half of its workforce in the country. The company will also close its Copenhagen development site and consolidate software development and administrative functions in international locations. This restructuring comes as Bitcoin Suisse seeks to expand into an international financial services group.

The Swiss operation is expected to be left with approximately 60 employees if the maximum number of cuts goes ahead. The company's global workforce consists of about 200 people, with 120 based in Switzerland. Despite the job reductions, Bitcoin Suisse will keep its Zug headquarters and wealth management business centered there.

The overhaul aims to help the company access more workers and direct investment toward future products. The statement did not specify which teams or functions would remain in Zug after the consultation process ends on September 20. Bitcoin Suisse plans to establish another international hub in Vietnam, but has not disclosed further details.
