Bitcoin Suisse Cuts Swiss Jobs Amid Overseas Expansion Plans
Bitcoin Suisse, a Swiss-based crypto firm, is planning to cut up to half of its workforce in Switzerland by eliminating around 60 jobs. The company has proposed this measure as part of its restructuring efforts to consolidate technology and administrative work in overseas operating centers.
The affected positions will include software development and back-office functions, which will be transferred to Bratislava, Slovakia, and a planned Vietnam operating hub. Bitcoin Suisse's Copenhagen development site will also be closed as part of the plan.
The company expects the first layoffs to take effect before the end of 2026, but the exact number of cuts will depend on the outcome of staff consultations that conclude on September 20.
