Bitcoin Suisse Cuts Up to 60 Jobs Amid Global Restructuring

Bitcoin Suisse is undergoing significant restructuring efforts to reduce its workforce and shift operations to lower-cost international hubs. The Zug-based company plans to eliminate up to 60 positions, roughly half of its 120 Swiss-based roles, as part of a broader strategy to concentrate engineering and administrative work abroad.

The move is aimed at allowing the company to scale more quickly, access a wider talent pool, and focus investment on future products. CEO Andrej Majcen framed the restructuring as an operational necessity tied to the company's international ambitions, rather than a response to market weakness.

Bitcoin Suisse will retain its Swiss customer-facing business while consolidating engineering and back-office functions in hubs such as Bratislava and Vietnam. The company has been expanding internationally, securing licenses in Liechtenstein, Abu Dhabi, and Bermuda, with another hub planned in Vietnam.
