Bitcoin Suisse Restructures, Cuts Up to Half of Swiss Staff
Bitcoin Suisse, one of Switzerland's oldest and most recognized crypto companies, is undergoing a significant restructuring. The firm plans to cut up to 50% of its Swiss staff, affecting approximately 60 positions out of its total 120-person workforce in the country.
The layoffs will primarily impact back-office, administrative, and software development roles, which are being consolidated into the company's existing hub in Bratislava, Slovakia. Bitcoin Suisse is also shutting down its IT office in Copenhagen and opening a new development site in Vietnam to take advantage of lower labor costs.
The company's leadership emphasizes that this move is part of a strategic pivot towards becoming an international financial services platform, targeting high-net-worth individuals, family offices, and institutions. Client-facing roles will remain in Switzerland to provide personalized service delivery.
