Bitcoin Suisse Shifts Half Its Swiss Jobs Overseas Amid International Expansion
Bitcoin Suisse is planning to relocate up to half of its Swiss-based jobs to lower-cost locations in Bratislava and Vietnam as part of its international expansion strategy. The firm, which provides crypto-focused financial services, expects to move around 60 roles out of its 120 positions based in Switzerland.
The relocation plan, announced by CEO Andrej Majcen, is aimed at supporting the company's long-term shift toward a broader wealth and asset management offering. Majcen stated that running affected functions in Bratislava and Vietnam would be 'significantly less expensive' than keeping them in Switzerland.
Bitcoin Suisse has been expanding its operations internationally, securing licenses in Liechtenstein and Bermuda earlier this year and receiving full regulatory approval for its Middle East subsidiary in Abu Dhabi. The company's workforce changes are not a reaction to declining crypto activity but rather a strategic move to align its internal organization with its growth model.
The relocation plan is part of Bitcoin Suisse's broader strategy to develop a wider wealth and asset management platform, targeting institutional clients, family offices, asset managers, and high-net-worth individuals. The company's international expansion and regulatory progress suggest a shift from 'Swiss-centric' operations toward a multi-jurisdiction framework.
