Bitcoin Suisse Shifts Half of Swiss Jobs Abroad Amid International Expansion
Bitcoin Suisse is shifting up to half of its Swiss jobs abroad as part of an international expansion strategy. The company, which provides crypto trading, custody, staking, and lending services, will relocate back-office and administrative roles to lower-cost hubs in Bratislava and Vietnam.
The move affects up to 60 of the company's 120 Swiss positions, with CEO Andrej Majcen citing cost as a key factor. He emphasized that this decision is not related to weakness in the crypto market but rather part of Bitcoin Suisse's strategy to build a broader wealth and asset management business.
Bitcoin Suisse has been expanding its international presence, securing licenses in Liechtenstein and Bermuda earlier this year, and receiving full regulatory approval for its Middle East subsidiary in Abu Dhabi. The company aims to establish itself as a global wealth management platform, targeting institutional clients, family offices, asset managers, and high-net-worth individuals.
