Bitcoin Suisse Trims Up to 60 Jobs in Switzerland Amid Restructuring Efforts
Bitcoin Suisse is cutting up to 60 jobs in Switzerland as part of its restructuring efforts. The Zug-based provider, which has been a fixture of Switzerland's Crypto Valley for over a decade, will concentrate on support and development functions rather than customer-facing roles. This move will affect up to half of the company's 120 Swiss employees.
The job cuts formalize Bitcoin Suisse's shift towards becoming an international financial services group. The firm has secured a MiCAR license and launched a European expansion, with a Middle East push also underway. Switzerland will remain the center of the company's customer-facing business, while back-end engineering and administrative work is consolidated internationally.
The restructuring echoes similar trims at other crypto companies, including Polygon Labs and Aave. The common thread is a push for leaner structures built around fewer, larger hubs. Until September 20, when a consultation process concludes, the final scale of the job cuts remains open.
