Bitcoin Surge Doesn't Shift Young Investor Sentiment
Crypto investor sentiment remains lukewarm despite Bitcoin's recent price surge to $72,000 in August. Data from CoinSwitch shows that young investors aged 18-25 are recording a high sell-to-buy ratio of 0.65 in the second quarter.
This trend is attributed to macro uncertainty and a preference for traditional assets like gold or corporate bonds over cryptocurrencies. Sharat Chandra, Founder of EmpowerEdge Ventures, suggests that this preference may be tied to the ongoing war and economic uncertainty.
The data also reveals that buying conviction strengthens progressively with age, with investors aged 46 and above recording the highest net buying activity during the quarter, boasting a ratio of 1.14.
