Bitcoin Surges 24.95% in August Amid September Regulatory Uncertainty
The Bitcoin price has seen significant gains in recent months, rising by 7.36% in July and an impressive 24.95% in August. According to data from CoinGlass, this marks a strong rebound for the cryptocurrency after a rough start to the year.
Despite some traders' concerns that September is typically a weak month for Bitcoin, historical data suggests otherwise. In fact, the cryptocurrency has risen in several Septembers since 2015, including 2.35% in 2015, 6.04% in 2016, and more recently 3.91% in 2023, 7.29% in 2024, and 5.16% in 2025.
The upcoming Senate vote on the CLARITY Act, scheduled for September 15, may also play a significant role in shaping Bitcoin's direction this month. The legislation aims to provide clearer federal rules for digital asset markets, but lawmakers have expressed disagreements over ethics rules and anti-money-laundering safeguards.
