Bitcoin Surges Above $80,000 on Weaker Dollar and Bond Market Measures

Bitcoin has surged above $80,000 to its highest level in more than three months, driven by renewed investor interest and a weaker U.S. dollar. Analysts say recent U.S. measures targeting the bond market have prompted investors to reassess risks surrounding dollar-denominated assets.

The U.S. Treasury's plan to increase purchases of longer-term government bonds has revived discussion of the 'debasement trade,' where investors seek to protect their wealth from currency erosion through portfolio allocation.

Geoff Kendrick, head of digital asset research at Standard Chartered, said the Treasury's move could benefit Bitcoin, which some investors view as a way to reduce exposure to monetary policy intervention. Tony Sycamore, an analyst at online trading platform IG, said renewed concerns over debasement have prompted investors to shift toward physical and digital assets.
