Bitcoin Surges Above $82,000 Amidst Market Volatility

Bitcoin has reached new heights, breaking above $82,000 for the first time since May. The price surge comes as investors seek safe-haven assets amidst market volatility. According to Goldman Sachs' Dominika Nestarcova, the 'debasement trade' has re-emerged, driving interest in Bitcoin and other cryptocurrencies.

The U.S. Treasury's announcement to increase purchases of longer-dated Treasuries has contributed to lower long-term yields and a weaker dollar. This environment has been favorable for Bitcoin, which has broken out of its summer range and pulled ether and solana to late August highs.

Ether reached $2,545.62 on Friday, its highest price since August 27, while solana jumped to about $105.70, the highest since August 31. The crypto market's recent performance suggests that investors are seeking shelter in these assets when markets wobble.
