As tensions between the US and Iran continue, cryptocurrency markets have seen mixed results. Bitcoin gained value late in the evening, reaching $65,400 before retreating below $65,000. Ethereum also experienced a price surge, but failed to break through its intraday high of $1,935.53.

XRP and Dogecoin traded lower on Sunday evening, as investors weighed diplomatic efforts between the two countries. The global cryptocurrency market capitalization dipped 0.10% over the last 24 hours, with a total value of $2.21 trillion.

Senator John Thune filed to advance the CLARITY Act, setting up a key vote for the cryptocurrency legislation in September. Meanwhile, Bitcoin's open interest rose 0.53% over the past day, and retail and whale derivatives traders on Binance remained net long on the apex cryptocurrency.
