Bitcoin Surges as Investors Flee AI Stocks for Cryptocurrencies
The cryptocurrency market has been gaining momentum in August, and some experts believe this is just the beginning of an epic year-end rally. One reason for this optimism is the shift away from AI stocks and towards cryptocurrencies.
Bitcoin (BTC) has been leading the charge, with a 25% gain in August making it one of the best months on record. This surge in price has led to increased inflows into Bitcoin exchange-traded funds (ETFs), which have seen their largest influx since October 2025.
In contrast, money appears to be flowing out of AI-themed ETFs, further supporting the idea that investors are rotating back into crypto. Ethereum (ETH) is also benefiting from this trend, with its decentralized finance (DeFi) capabilities making it an attractive option for institutional investors.
Bittensor (TAO), a top AI cryptocurrency by market cap, provides access to decentralized AI and has seen a staggering 185,000% increase in value since its launch in 2023. However, some experts believe that Bitcoin is the best long-term investment due to its proven track record of delivering triple-digit percentage returns.
Ethereum founder Vitalik Buterin sees potential synergies between blockchain technology and AI technology, which could open up new opportunities for Ethereum. Wall Street strategist Tom Lee even predicts that Ethereum will hit $250,000 in the future, although this is a long shot.
